Ajay is an MBA (Marketing & Finance) with 20 years of cross-functional work experience ranging across Program Management / Operations, Consulting, Sales and Business Development, Partnerships Development, Government Relations, International Business and Sponsorship/Fund Raising in a multi-sector, multi-cultural work environment. Currently building Startup Réseau in India and Hindsight Ventures in emerging markets across Africa and South East Asia. Earlier set-up, built and led Zone Startups' India operations - accelerator programs and a strong innovation consulting practice with leading corporates. I was also involved in setting-up Zone Startups Vietnam. Prior to Zone Startups, Ajay set-up the India operations of a Canadian ed-tech startup. Ajay has considerable international business experience, having worked with the Provincial Government of Ontario, Canada and managing a satellite office in Mumbai for 5 yrs, during which he has helped over 100 Ontario-based companies develop their business in India. During the same time he built an extensive network of C-suite executives within corporate India, and hosted several high-level Government visits and business delegations. Ajay began his career in Tanzania (East Africa), where he worked on several government and donor-funded projects. For a 2-year period, Ajay assumed the role of an 'intrapreneur' and set up a social impact business in the agri-inputs value chain. Working with Local Governments, Credit Co-operatives, MFI's and International Donor Agencies, Ajay built a local team, finance and sales network and a $1.5Mn startup revenue book in less than 18-months timeframe.
