About

I'm an accidental marketer who discovered the joy of marketing after a degree in science. Over the last 18 years, I have worked on B2B SaaS marketing, demand generation, brand marketing, product marketing, inbound and content marketing, BD and consumer research. My strength lies in my diverse background. I am a seasoned marketing leader and have a special interest in Demand Generation, Content Marketing & Branding. Here's some of the marketing philosophy I've picked up over the years: -Marketing is a science. It is also an art. It is important to understand the underlying principles but also break them. -Constantly question and analyse everything that you do. This exercise makes sense only if you measure everything that you do. -Measurement should be both quantitative and qualitative. -Data always gives you the truth if you're willing to listen to it. -Marketing doesn't end with just creating the demand or a marketing pipeline. Marketing is the lifeline that follows through from lead creation until cutomer retention. -Creativity thrives under constraint. -You don't need to always hire the smartest person for the job. Just hire the one with the strongest urge to learn and grow. -Build a team that you can have fun with and can learn from. -What we do is important but it is a job. Life happens outside of your 9-5. But your 9-5 enables you to live your best life. I currently head the marketing team at Exotel. I was the first hire of the marketing team. Over the years, I have built the inbound marketing, demand generation and branding functions at the team from the ground up. During this time, Exotel's revenue has grown from 1 crore INR to 120 crore INR. I also played a big role in our international marketing efforts and spearheaded our expansion into Southeast Asia and Australia. I have been a remote worker (and manager) for over 8 years now. I strongly believe in building a diverse team. If you're building a startup, please feel free to reach out to me for questions you may have on early-stage and growth-stage marketing. My areas of expertise -Demand generation -ABM -Digital Marketing -PR -Inbound Marketing -Product marketing (with a focus on enterprise-ready products)
