I can pull off a pretty convincing Humphrey Bogart when I say that line]. Let’s face it, Hollywood lines and stories are way more fun than PowerPoint slides. I believe storytelling should be mandatory for people, brands, and even those awkward “introduce yourself” sessions. But why stories? Because “once upon a time” gets more replies than “As per my last email.” Stories are what make people understand, remember, and most importantly, retell your message without butchering it. We all tell stories daily about our kids, colleagues, traffic, and the chai we drank, but we don’t call them stories. I do. For me, an anecdote is a story, a conversation between two people is a story, and even a timeline about a person is a story. Anything that helps you sell or shine is a story. And that's where my tagline comes in, "I write stories that make sense. Occasionally, they even make money."I believe if you're trying to get better at storytelling or communication, start with your own stories. You'll be surprised at how many narratives you already live through every day. They just need a bit of framing. I run purpose-driven storytelling workshops that help organizations turn their value proposition into “Wow, tell me more!” They help sales teams sell more, PR teams pitch better, and customers remember you on purpose. Besides, I run marketing at Payhuddle, where I sneak storytelling into everything from sales decks to coffee breaks. Talk to me if you want your message remembered.
