After 6½ years as a media executive with organizations like PMG, MTV, and Metalight Films, my time with PowerPoint and Excel was over when I realized Yana Gupta’s post-tax income was higher than the CEO’s of most multinational company’s which made me wonder why I had wasted time studying Warren Buffet and Phillip Kotler. So, becoming an item number in the world of cricket was the best available alternative, the rest as they say is history. The 2004 CEAT Cricket Awards and that amateurish YouTube video gave me my 8 minutes of fame and turned me into a standup comedian. Since then, I have now done over 3000 shows across the world with leading corporates, Bollywood / cricket events, and several TV stints (SET MAX during the World Cup and Champions Trophy, India's Tour of SA on ESPN Star Sports, and the ICC World Cup 2011 on IBN LokMat). My standup comedy repertoire includes everything from sports, politics, current affairs, Bollywood, to popular culture and solutions for marital disputes. Have performed in 3000 corporate events since the time I started. I have recently developed a module called "SPORTIFY-LIFE LESSONS IN SPORT " where I share interesting anecdotes from the sporting world covering areas such as Leadership, Teamwork, Excellence, etc. I have also authored a best selling book called " How Sachin Destroyed My Life “ I launched my first cricket & humour digital show called "WHAT THE DUCK" with VIU / YouTube some years back and now we have 4 seasons with Indian and International cricketers available on my Youtube channel "WHAT THE DUCK WITH VIKRAM SATHAYE”. In addition to comedy, I am also a founder member of Bawraas - an initiative along with Bollywood musicians Swanand Kirkire and Shantanu Moitra to support young promising Indians who have taken up unconventional careers as well as 'Think Cricket' - a platform co-hosted along with leading cricket expert Harsha Bhogle & Anita Bhogle aimed at senior corporates to discuss all matters cricket.
