• Lokal is a hyper-local video news platform. It aims to build for the large under-served local news market in India in its vernacular languages. On-ground citizen journalists cover news and submit on Lokal, which later gets fact-checked and curated by professional news curators.
• Lokal works with on-ground citizen journalists to report news on its platform while maintaining the authenticity using proper structures and technology.
• As a Product Development Intern I was mostly assigned with the following :
• 1. Working with Co-founders to hire the core-team for the start-up
• 2. Heading the entire product-marketing, especially Facebook marketing
• 3. Working on product testing and identifying bugs along with developer team.

As a society, we take part in events such as Parliamentary Debates, Presidential Debates and Model United Nations (MUN) competitions all across India.

• Gopali Youth Welfare Society is a registered non-governmental voluntary organisation primarily managed by some faculty members and students of IIT Kharagpur, with the support of local members from Gopali.
• It was established in 2002 with a mission to improve the living standard of the people of Gopali, a village 5 km from IIT Kharagpur. Registered in 20C under the West Bengal Society Registration Act of 1961 with Reg. No. S/IL/23893, has been advancing with the twin objective of making the youth and society aware of and ensuring socio-economic welfare for underprivileged and weaker sections of the society. Projects like e-Samadhan, Child Rights protection and rehabilitation, and Prayas are playing an important role in improving socio-economic grounds. KGP BloodConnect and Paksha have marked active presence of the organization in grounds of medical awareness. The major initiative of the society is Jagriti Vidya Mandir (JVM) providing free-of-cost English medium education to children from weak financial backgrounds. The society seeks to fulfill its objectives with the help of its executive body which is composed mainly of students of IIT Kharagpur who are dedicated to the service of the needy and deprived, under the guidance of professors of IIT Kharagpur.
• I was a part of the Media and Publicity team under GYWS. I took part in many events such as blood and clothing donation drives, and occasional visits to the school to teach the underprivileged children. I was also actively involved as a fund-raiser to help in the infrastructure and other areas.
