Arjun Sharma — Product Manager
"Water is Life" – This guiding principle shapes both my personal and professional journey. I believe that water is invaluable, truly "Liquid Gold," and this belief drives my passion for improving water resources and systems worldwide. After completing my university studies, like many young professionals, I envisioned a future filled with travel, cultural exploration, and meaningful experiences. I initially thought a typical career would lead me there. My path, however, began in the Oil & Gas sector, where I worked as a Project Engineer. This role was foundational in developing my project management skills, including cross-departmental coordination, scheduling, meeting deadlines, stakeholder engagement, vendor development, and client management. A pivotal moment came when I transitioned into the water industry, where I found my true professional purpose. I was involved in a large-scale Water Supply and Distribution Project serving a population of 600,000 in Delhi, India, under SUEZ. The project faced significant challenges such as intermittent water supply, hidden underground leaks, damaged distribution lines, and high levels of Non-Revenue Water (NRW). My team and I successfully identified and replaced distribution lines using advanced Helium leak detection technology, reducing NRW from 65% to 30% in the first year. Additionally, I led commercial and revenue operations, achieving a 40% increase in project revenue. Relocating to Canada was a transformative experience, offering new perspectives on climate, culture, and infrastructure. This shift deepened my passion for water resource management and wastewater treatment, prompting me to further my education in advanced treatment technologies, operations optimization, and sustainable solutions to the looming global water crisis. I gained hands-on experience managing both water and wastewater treatment facilities before transitioning into engineering project management. Currently, I specialize in treatment process development, process optimization, operational troubleshooting, design reviews, proposals, plant inspections, DWQMS compliance, and equipment procurement. I also play an active role in conducting Ministry inspections and ensuring regulatory compliance. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of managing water systems across diverse climates, from +45°C to -40°C, and continue to drive innovative solutions for the future of water management. I welcome opportunities to connect and exchange insights. Feel free to reach out for a conversation over Teams, coffee, or a walk.
