Career break

Personal goal pursuit

Apr 2020Sep 2021 · 1 yr 5 mos

  • Took time to digest all the knowledge I put in my head over my time at Intuitive Surgical. Honestly I feel like this is some of the most soulful work out there (saying this as of 2025 end). Connecting these human body surgical robots to the internet helped me learn what it meant to connect complex beasts to the internet. With enough expansion and understanding of this production scale of services, most things that work on the internet started making sense (Tesla, Meta, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, gaming consoles, Roblox). I spent a lot of time reading books and exploring forests and embracing the beauty of the world.
  • I bought microprocessors and tinkered with IOT as I traveled with my dog. I go on to take another break after Meta and one after Salesforce. I value everyone's time and my breaks are my way of truly seeking purpose. I believe in this complex world I have found it. Help me move forward efficiently please. I probably do not fit into a template. This break was started because someone tried to eat my dog. It was someone on the streets that I used to help out. Within 3 days I gave away most things, stuffed my car and set out to visit the National Parks with my dog. The world has dark drugs and the forests/creatures/lands/humans taught us beautiful lessons. After a nice break and new learning I came back to Meta with a bootcamp offer (free will to choose team).
  • I interacted with wolves in Colorado in a reserve. Donkeys, deer, monkeys, turtles, coyotes, bears and many other creatures across this country & Mexico. Saw tigers, elephants, wild dogs, birds up close in their natural habitat in India. Coming back to work at Meta was a jungle I was not ready for. For a human that is truly uninterested in money, I probably should not have chosen the Ads pillar of a social behemoth. They treated me nice :)
