• As part of my chemical engineering training, I had the opportunity to complete a 30-day vocational program at NFL, Punjab. I spent the first 15 days in the Urea Production unit, where I gained hands-on exposure to the urea manufacturing process, understanding critical aspects such as CO₂ stripping, synthesis loop operation, heat integration, and crystallization techniques.
• The following 15 days were spent in the Ammonia Section, where I deepened my understanding of high-pressure, high-temperature chemical processes involved in ammonia synthesis. I learned about steam reforming, shift conversion, methanation, and the Haber-Bosch process in a real industrial environment. Additionally, I explored the importance of process safety, instrumentation, catalyst handling, and energy efficiency in continuous operation systems.
• During the training, I interacted closely with experienced process and plant engineers, gaining insights into real-time problem-solving, process optimization, and plant troubleshooting. It was an invaluable on-site learning experience that reinforced my academic foundation with practical industry exposure.
