About

An Engineering and Product Leader, an influential Strategic thinker and an Entrepreneur with exceptional skills in Execution and making things happen. I am at my best when strategy has to find it’s feet in execution on the ground. I have led disruptive innovation and built technology organisations that have created huge positive impact on the societies and emerging economies across the world. As CTO/Group CTO or equivalent for last 14 years, I have helped build highly customer centric, product focused, multi-billion dollar organisations such as Grab, Paytm and GXS Bank (Grab and Singtel’s Digibank venture). I am now deep into building Spiro - the largest EV and Energy distribution company in Africa. Started my career working with the most innovative and game changing companies of that time in Japan, US and Europe. Then worked extensively to build some of the top internet/product companies in India and South East Asia and now I am on to my next mission to build tech companies in Africa. My domains have spanned across e-commerce, payments, fintech, ride hailing, food delivery, digital banks, enterprise products and now EVs and renewable energy. Excited for what the future holds.

Building Spiro, the largest EV and Energy distribution company in Africa. Spiro is an Equitane group company. Equitane is active in 14 countries in Africa, focused on climate solutions like electric vehicles and renewable energy, alongside manufacturing, sustainable mining, technology and infrastructure development. I am the Group CTO at Equitane, leading the tech strategy across all the group companies and directly responsible for building and leading the product and tech organisation at Spiro.

I helped setup Grab and Singtel’s DigiBank venture as the Group CTO. I started working on this venture much earlier in 2019-2020 itself, right from the time of filing applications for banking licenses, Built and launched three DigiBanks from ground up in Singapore (GXS Bank), Indonesia (Superbank) and Malaysia (GXBank) for both Retail and MSME segments. All the three DigiBanks are highly successful and are among the top digital banks in their respective countries.
