• Co-founded Orderly, an e-commerce SaaS platform that helped businesses kickstart their online business with ease. We majorly operated as an alternative to WhatsApp business. Although we gained significant traction, we realized that the COVID tailwinds were the reason why. After about 2.5 years, we took the hard decision to shut down Orderly and re-invest our efforts in the Generative AI space.
• Learnings:
• It's an ads game. Heavy investment in ads is required for branding and selling. Tons of funding is required too.
• Too many funds invested into Kirana tech during the time we were in market, but we were very focused on getting to some level of PMF before we could raise money on Orderly - glad we did not raise.
• We wanted to know if any traction we saw was real. It was not. There were COVID tailwinds.
• QuickCommerce was already gaining traction in Gurgaon (Grofers) - it was just a matter of time

• Lot of learnings building in the HRTech space. We shut down realizing the following -
• HR Tech products (esp. targeting India) have razor thin margins
• It's a saturated space with tons of products - differentiation is quite hard - and it's a sales game.
• PLG is hard for HR Tech - People don't go shopping around for the "best" HR Tech products. It isn't a thing.

• As the CEO and founder, I led a digital transformation for the shared accommodation industry by developing CommonDoor, a fully integrated mobile application designed to streamline operations and tenant management. The idea was that this will pave way to more complex needs and handling property management at scale, in different sectors - commercial, residential, shared, co-working, etc. Over two-years, I focused on product development, strategic growth initiatives and platform adoption/user engagement. Despite the innovative nature of the platform, we faced challenges in gaining significant traction owing to my own mistakes as a first-time entrepreneur and the COVID period. We made the tough call, and shutdown the company, returning investor money to be repurposed into a different venture.
