Worked on spelling correction of email search queries.
Developed an “Email Search Query Spelling Correction System”, a feature either absent or present in a rudimentary form in current email clients.
The challenge was to work in the absence of query logs, which otherwise are used in the web search domain to learn the user error and language models of queries.
Proposed a "Learning to Rank" framework for the task, which made use of context sensitive features engineered for the email domain, drawn from various components of a mail, capturing a rich set of parameters catering to email search.

Incremental Computation in Datalog
Datalog is a database query and rule language, and the objective of the research was to support incremental computation in Datalog, wherein incremental updates to base relations of a database are transmitted to derived relations efficiently.
Proposed the application of a “Boolean Logic” framework, where every derived relation tuple is represented as a compact and canonical Binary Decision Diagram (BDD) structure, capturing the dependencies on the base tuples.
The system offered a significant speed-up over the existing Datalog engine, with the additional ability to handle recursive query re-computations because of a transparent boolean framework.
