As the Vice President of Engineering at American Express, I lead the Regulatory reporting and anlytics which is a very key tech function for the company. This job involves complex Data pipe lines coming to life and have tools, technologies and frameworks that perform very complex calculations for all the Regulatory Filings in every market that American Express opertes, Ensuring utmost Data quality, Lineage, Calculations in a scaleable, Fault Tolerent, Repeatable way is the mantra. This role includes leading teams in multiple locations in India, US and UK and I have been adept in bringing the follow the sun model both in the Aquired and Finance space at Amex. I lead a team that owns multiple Data product platforms and calculation engines that perform very critical calculations all the way from Regulatory Data sourcing to the filing. This includes key aspects of Liquidity, Capital and multiple report categories in 17 + Markets in EU and the entire US Fed. Also lead the team that does the Reg tech for RBI. Prior to the current role at Amex, I lead the Merchant Payments and Technologies team in Bangalore, overseeing a significant transformation from payments and other key functions. Since joining in January 2020, I've scaled the team from 3 engineers and a leader to over 60 colleagues and 5 engineering leaders in Bangalore. Had the wonderful opportunity to lead the global teams. We're making impactful contributions to the global merchant technologies of Amex. In addition to my role at American Express, I also have experience as the Director of Data Engineering at Trusting Social, where I led the data engineering team responsible for collecting data from various sources, including batch and streaming environments with petabytes of data. I used technologies like Spark, Scala, HDP, CDH, Ambari, Ansible, Rundeck, Stats D, Prometheus, and Grafana to build scalable, resilient, and predictable data pipelines. I also doubled the size of the team during my tenure. My skills include SDLC, software project management, and enterprise software. At Amazon, I seeded a team in Bangalore called Transportation Financial systems and today that team has evolved into a flagship team. The journey at Amazon was all about modernising the Accounting and Auditing platforms and it played a very key role in the Amazon Transportation space. Gave me a good exposure to building applciation at scale in AWS and also made me robust in designing, building and launching services in AWS.
