Bill Carr — Co-Founder
I joined Amazon in 1999. During my 15 years, I participated in our progression from an unprofitable, hyper-growth startup to a disciplined, operationally excellent invention machine. I was the Vice president of Digital media, leading the development and growth of Prime Video, Amazon Music, and Amazon Studios. In 2011, I co-authored the best-selling management book Working Backwards, which provides my in-person account of our multi-year journey to create, refine, and establish a set of scalable, repeatable management processes that enabled Amazon to innovate and scale. Over the past four years, my co-author Colin Bryar and I have worked as advisors and consultants to more than 50 CEOs and their teams. We help implement scalable processes to manage customer-facing input metrics, set and achieve goals, and Work Backwards from customer needs to drive new product innovation.
