Motorola

Engineering Manager

  • As the Engineering Manager for Motorola India Software Group, I design and develop state-of-the-art sensor based solutions. Our diverse customer base includes healthcare, automotive and public sector companies. For WelchAllyn, an American healthcare firm we developed wireless patient monitoring solution to overcome the acute shortage of nurses. Our team also developed MOTODRIVE, a solution which makes cars intelligent by avoiding collisions and performing traffic management. It aims at reducing the death toll, presently at 40,000 per year, on the US highways. I also led a team to develop a Wagon Management System for the Indian Railways which when commercialized will improve freight efficiency of the railways, and, is expected to save them $1 billion per year.
  • My responsibilities also include conceptualizing niche applications for Motorola phones. I am presently working to introduce LBS (location based services) for the first time on Motorola handsets in India.
