You can dismiss what is happening to the Himalayas but you can no longer ignore it. Pradeep Sangwan is an avid trekker, environmentalist, and founder of Healing Himalayas. He has taken on the monumental challenge of cleaning up the mountain and reversing the impact. Pradeep certainly made it his goal to clean out the trash from the Himalayas and create a circular economy by building a waste collection center, further recycling, and reusing. Since 2016, he along with hundreds of volunteers have trekked over 10,000 km and collected 700 tons of non-biodegradable waste from the Himalayas. He has been a relentless advocate of responsible tourism and there's no denying he has helped get the ball rolling. His key contribution has been to bring awareness and a hands-on approach to the mission.

Healing Himalayas was established in 2016, with an intent to preserve the environment and its natural ecology to make it a perfect abode for its inhabitants. It began with a need to sensitize tourists, travelers, trekkers, and locals on the protection of the Himalayas, which for many years have silently contained a dump due to our anthropogenic activities.
To accomplish the same, Healing Himalayas works tirelessly all around the year, attempting to clean the treks (most visited and otherwise) while also providing a wonderful trekking experience. Our projects are focused on clean-up drives, waste management, circular economy through waste collection centers, and education through ground action in the foothills of the Himalayas.
