About

From the Marine Corps to AWS, my career has been driven by a commitment to service, discipline, and solving complex problems under pressure. I spent 7½ years at Amazon Web Services, starting as a military apprentice and growing into a Cloud Support Engineer II in Developer Services (Lambda, API Gateway). Along the way, I became one of the API Gateway SMEs for the North America West region, partnering with some of AWS’s largest customers to resolve business-critical production issues — the kind where resolution kept major operations running and real-world disruption out of the headlines. Beyond customer impact, I also focused on team development, advocating for and delivering training that raised our collective standard of support and empowered engineers to better meet customer needs. Looking ahead, I’m excited to focus on AI integration and building lasting customer partnerships — working with organizations not just in the moment, but throughout the evolution of their goals. At my core, I thrive where technology meets mission: using cloud and AI to deliver meaningful results for customers, teams, and the industries they serve.

  • Guided customers in applying AWS best practices for reliability, security, and cost optimization, including architectural reviews, hardening misconfigured resources, and designing safer rollout and rollback strategies.
  • Produced detailed case notes and maintained internal runbooks, KBs, and troubleshooting flows, improving consistency and reducing mean time to resolution (MTTR) for the wider Support Engineering team.
  • Served as a subject matter expert for Amazon API Gateway, reviewing and validating SOP datasets used to train internal AI models that power support engineering bots, improving the technical accuracy and relevance of AI-generated responses.
  • Recognized as an AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME) and go-to escalation point in my domain, mentoring peers through case shadowing, deep-dive reviews, and informal training sessions on debugging strategies and tooling.
  • Partnered with service and engineering teams to raise systemic issues, contribute to problem records, and influence enhancements to observability, error messaging, and throttling/limit behavior based on customer pain points.
  • Identified opportunities for workflow automation and better diagnostics (e.g., pre-check scripts, test harnesses, and standardized data-collection templates), enabling faster triage and higher-quality technical analysis.
