Julia Binder — Co-Founder
Julia believes that leaders create the most value when they understand the signals of change shaping their industries and use them to imagine bold new futures for their organizations. As Professor of Business Transformation at IMD and Director of the Center for Sustainable and Inclusive Business, she works with executives worldwide to build future-ready businesses that innovate, adapt, and lead with purpose. Her work has earned her recognition as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader (2025) and a spot on the Thinkers50 Radar list (2022). Julia is co-author of The Circular Business Revolution and co-editor of the IMD Playbook on Leading the Sustainable Business Transformation (Wiley, 2024), a collective effort of more than 30 IMD faculty that explores how companies can move from ambition to action. With a PhD summa cum laude in sustainable entrepreneurship from the Technical University of Munich, Julia has spent more than a decade at the crossroads of innovation and sustainability. Before joining IMD, she helped shape the future of impact-driven innovation at EPFL, where she created Tech4Impact, a platform uniting entrepreneurs, corporations, NGOs, governments, and academics to co-create solutions that tackle some of the world’s toughest challenges. Whether in the classroom, on stage, or advising executives, Julia’s work has one red thread: to empower leaders to turn sustainability into a source of transformation, resilience, and long-term success.
