About

Thanks for checking out my profile 👋🏾 After years of working in Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding in tech, I founded Parallel Minds, a disruptive and progressive Neurodiversity consultancy helping organisations make sustainable and effective changes to their workplace, not only to help neurodivergent employees thrive, but to create widely accessible environments that lean into differences, not push for conformity. Being diagnosed as Autistic and ADHD as an adult was the catalyst to my personal journey of self-discovery and self-compassion which then sparked my passion for creating a more positive outlook for neurodivergent workers; I've seen and experienced firsthand how much of a difference small changes can make. In addition to my work with Parallel Minds, I'm a Union Rep and Disability Officer at United Tech and Allied Workers Union, I run the Neurodivergent Techies Discord Community and I'm a Community Manager of The Talent Community! I'm also an experienced keynote speaker and have presented engaging and memorable talks at events like LeadDev London, Leeds Digital Festival, Manchester Tech Festival and RecFest. Outside of work, I enjoy playing the piano (which I've done since I was 8 years old) 🎹 , cooking recipes from around the world 🌎 or learning to crochet 🧶 (Note: I love connecting with new people but if you'd like to chat over a virtual coffee I would appreciate if you could let me know what you'd like to discuss ❤️. Also you may see me posting but not replying, often my posts are scheduled posts and I dedicate 2 days per week to respond to linkedin messages and comments! ) And of course trans lives matter 🏳️‍⚧️ Black Lives Matter ✊🏿 and free Palestine 🇵🇸 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

Community Manager

Apr 2023Present · 2 yrs 11 mos · Manchester, England, United Kingdom · Remote

  • I joined the Community Managers team at TTC in April 2023. Despite no longer being hands-on with recruitment, I'm passionate about making recruitment a better place. We have great people to learn from and collaborate with and TTC creates a community to enable that.
  • As a Community Manager I work with our team on Slack engagement, content, managing vendors etc. As the team grew rapidly we needed a project management tool, and fast. I built a workspace in Notion from scratch which enables us to collaborate asynchronously and reduces silo'd conversations.
  • About us:
  • The Talent Community is an inclusive and supportive online community united by our mission to change the industry together. We welcome all recruiters; agency, RPO/embedded and internal 🙌🏾

Recruitment Marketing Partner

Nov 2022Jan 2024 · 1 yr 2 mos · Remote

  • I leveraged my experience as a tech recruiter to build the Recruitment Marketing function at xDesign from scratch. I bridge the gap between Marketing and Talent Acquisition and I'm responsible for all things candidate attraction, employer branding and community engagement.
  • Completely revamped our job adverts and created guidelines and templates to facilitate our TA's to create their own job adverts across all technical and non-technical roles to a high standard. The new adverts generally resulted in an increase in conversion rate (views:applications) to up 4.5x.
  • Managed partnerships and sponsorships with organisations like Manchester Tech Festival, MCR DevCon and ReframeWIT. This included selecting and supporting xDesign speakers and maximising the brand exposure opportunities, particularly as we were establishing ourselves in a new region.
  • I started this role in Nov 22' as a 3-month secondment and made the move permanent.
