Co-Founder & COO

  • DoorMint was started to bring convenience in modern consumers life when it comes to day-to-day home services. We later pivoted to Laundry narrowing our focus and delivering high quality customer experience. We raised $2 Million from leading institutional VCs like Helion Ventures and Kalaari Capital and quickly raced to become top online B2C laundry player in India serving more than 1 Lakh customers across Mumbai, Bangalore and Gurgaon. During our prime we got recognised by Forbes as "Top 20 startups to watch out in 2016" and Google for being one of the 6 startups from India to qualify for Google's accelerator program.
  • However, a truly scalable and profitable business model in laundry as a technology enabled business for mass consumption eluded us till the end. The costs of processing clothes, logistics and packaging made it difficult to recover through prices that customers could afford to pay. In the last few months, we even set up our own processing unit to cover the last leg in the value chain but eventually failed to justify the unit economics.
  • The spirit of entrepreneurship took our team to unexplored territories, to business models which were not been tried before and its true spirit lies in the fact that sometimes things work and sometimes they just don't. Not seeing any clear path towards building a successful business and lack of funds led us to shut down operations. DoorMint eventually got acquired by Wassup in an all stock deal.
  • Even though the result was undesirable, it was still an amazing journey and all of us are glad that it happened. After all, it is rightly said that 'Failures are the best teacher'
