Vivek Choudhary — Product Manager

I started my career back in 2012 as an animator and graphic designer. In 2013, I joined Zomato. Since then, I have worked on numerous projects. Being an Art Director at Zomato is not like a typical job. From social media creatives to campaign-focused creatives; from app notifications and mailers to collaterals for events and partnerships; from educational posters to TV ads — the list is endless. A common brief’s context could be anything from brand awareness to increasing transactions, or simply bringing a smile to someone's face. I moved on to begin my Product Design Manager journey at Freadom in Dec 2020. There were tons of things that had to be done and improve in the whole system. Moving from food delivery to Ed-tech was quite a shift. The 4 months felt like a year. I remember not getting up from my chair for countless hours so that I could close one project. I avoid taking breaks because that only piled up my work. I still can't believe I managed to execute so many projects in such little time. In April 2021, I joined Blinkit's as a Product Manager. During my time at Zomato, I constantly felt like I am driving in an F1 car. At Blinkit, it feels like I am maneuvering a rocket ship (Interstellar music playing in the background). I enjoy listening to people and solving for them. My focus is on enhancing the shopping experience and marketing the product in the most creative way possible. I also look at social media at Blinkit. Besides my day job, I enjoy doing what I love. I don't like going out much so I put all those time into learning and growing while having fun. While having I grew my own Instagram page. While having fun, I learned about NFTs and launched my own collection. Sold 75% of them. I developed a huge interest in crypto, web 3, and the whole NFT space in 2021. Been watching the whole space since the CryptoPunks, BAYC, etc blew up. I have collected some good NFTs also.

I oversee every marketing creative and campaign that goes out of Zomato. For context, a week would consist of conceptualizing to designing at least 1000 banners, 3-4 digital campaigns, over 200 print creatives, video ads for YouTube, social media, app notifs, mailers, and ad-hoc creatives. The nature of these projects changes every 5-6 months.
I started with a team of two graphic designers and then eventually my team grew to one of the largest teams at Zomato with 17 direct reportees — including designers and copywriters.
I have directly worked with the founders and co-founders of Zomato on funding pitch decks, annual reports, year-ender infographics, business outlook, investor reports, etc. in articulating and supporting the business goals using our design language.

By the end of my second year at Zomato I was already working on Branding – which involved more designing for BTL and ATL marketing for all the geographies we were present.
