Professor Erwin Loh — CEO
Professor Erwin Loh has been recognised for his dedication to health leadership and system improvements when he was awarded the Distinguished Fellow Award “for commitment to governance, research and publication, health services improvement through training and mentorship” by the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators in 2017. His peers have recognised his leadership, by electing him in 2024 to be the President of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, the specialty medical college for medical leaders. He is an internationally recognised leader in health ethics, and is appointed by the Federal Health Minister as a member of the Australian Health Ethics Committee (AHEC) of the NHMRC. He is also a member of the AHEC AI Working Group. He teaches ethical leadership to doctors around the world, most recently to doctors in Hong Kong for the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine earlier this year. He is recognised globally as a leader in the field of AI in medicine. He was an invited by the World Health Organisation to be a panellist for the ‘WHO Roundtable on AI Enabled Virtual Humans’ in October 2024. He was the invited keynote speaker on AI and medicine at the Hospital Authority Convention in Hong Kong in May 2025, the BC Cancer Virtual Academic Forum, British Columbia, Canada, in November 2024, the IHI/ BMJ International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare in Hong Kong in August 2024 and at the Irish Society for Rheumatology Meeting in Dublin, Ireland, in April 2024. He has been an invited speaker on health leadership and AI at over 200 events around the world over the past 20 years. He has published 42 peer-reviewed articles, 5 books, and 13 book chapters. He is the co-editor of the “Textbook of Medical Administration and Leadership” and the textbook “Artificial Intelligence in Medicine” both published by Nature Springer. He has adjunct professorships at three leading universities: Clinical Professor at the Department of Medical Education, University of Melbourne, since 2020; Honorary Professor at the Centre for Health Systems and Safety Research, Macquarie University, since 2019; and Adjunct Professor at the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation, Monash University, since 2014. He is currently a board director of Healthshare Victoria, the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, and is pro bono non-executive board director at the Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC), where he is also Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee.
