• MM project manager for infrastructure delivery into the Olympics Delivery Authority (ODA) – Responsible for monitoring and reporting on delivery of land acquisition for park and ride sites. Led team responsible for producing contract documents for procurement of overlay works to facilitate park and ride sites. Co-ordination of inputs into the ODA covering planning consents, environmental inputs, design team inputs, client liaison and weekly reporting to senior ODA client team. Based in client office in London with day-to-day direct engagement with client – first point of call in relation to client queries and requests. Responsible for delivery to time, quality and budget.
• Project and programme management for Norwich Area Transportation Strategy (NATS) entailing production and maintenance of Microsoft Project programme combining programmes for NATS, Northern Distributor Road (NDR) and Growth Point schemes, liaising with client project managers, reporting and addressing programme related issues. Co-ordination of project communications, budgets and deliverables. Preparation, submission and agreement of resource estimates and development of client briefs to meet defined scope.

• Project managed the Walsh Williams Consultants Joint Venture in Ireland for Owen Williams with full responsibility for budgetary control, resource allocation and programme. Responsible for managing a team of up to eight personnel including day-to-day line manager duties. Managed the NRA’s EIRSPAN bridge management system in Counties Cork and Kerry and undertook principal and special inspections of structures, design of bridge remedial works and the management of the NRA’s Bridge Assessment Programme. Produced risk assessments and health and safety plans for numerous projects. Key player in the development of the draft NRA specification for repairs to masonry arch bridges using lime mortar working in close liaison with NRA regional bridge manager.

• Team leader for structures routine maintenance for the Area 6 (East Anglia) Improvement and Maintenance Commission 1997-2001. Responsible for programming inspections with a team of up to six engineers and technicians. Responsible for the testing regime and traffic management for principal and general inspections and structures annual routine maintenance, with a total budget in excess of £500,000. Responsible for checking and approval of reports prior to submission to Highways Agency (HA) and attending monthly progress meetings.
• Played a significant part in the early development of the HA’s bid allocation and prioritisation system (BAPS) and structures management and information system (SMIS) and was involved in many workshops and user group meetings with HA.
• Financially responsible for the reconciliation of budget with the term maintenance contractor’s monthly interim and final submissions. Produced risk assessments and method statements for confined spaces, railways and working at heights. Liaising with the term maintenance contractor/subcontractors and providing site supervision as required. Close liaison with outside parties (Environment Agency, Internal Drainage Boards etc), statutory undertakers, members of the public and local authorities.
• Involved in the design of schemes under £100,000, conducting special inspections and carrying out numerous site surveys of structures for ‘as built’ drawings. Designed the strengthening/rehabilitation of a number of structures and produced contract documents, including drawings using AutoCAD.
