Dr. Jayarama Reddy — Co-Founder

Dr. Jayarama Reddy is a Professor at St. Joseph's University, Bengaluru. His primary field of specialization is biotechnology, and he has conducted significant research at the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. Dr. Reddy earned his Ph.D. in Biotechnology of Orchids from Bangalore University in 2002. He also undertook research as a short-term research fellow with Dr. C.S. Vaidyanathan in the Department of Biochemistry at IISc. His research interests include gene cloning, and he has worked with renowned scientists such as Dr. Seetharam Annadana and Dr. Von Don Boss from Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Dr. Reddy was instrumental in establishing the St. Joseph’s Institute of Gene Technology in collaboration with Wageningen University. Currently co-guiding 18 students with Prof. Rajanikanth at Plasma Applications Lab, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, on an internship research project, “Application of plasma technology to enhance seed germination and crop yield through advanced seed priming techniques.” In addition to his research, Dr. Reddy has collaborated with Dr. Hung Ming Wong, Emeritus Professor at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), on environmental science projects and co-authored the book A Better Earth is Possible. Dr. Reddy has published more than 100 research papers, four patents, and 12 books. His contributions to science have been recognized with several awards, including the “Eminent Scientist Award-2015” from the National Environmental Science Academy, the “Scroll of Honour” from St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore, the “Dronacharya Award” for Academic Excellence from the International Society of Gene and Cell Therapy and Gene Research Foundation, and the “J. Agarwal Gold Medal Award” from the International Society of Gene and Cell Therapy. In 2021, he was honored with the “Puraskara Award. He also got “Prakriti Ratna” award by Vandhe Bharatham Foundation and SuperClan Prodigies Pvt Ltd in 2025. Dr. Reddy has also pursued additional education in Psychology from Yale University and Schizophrenia from Wesleyan University in 2022. He runs an educational YouTube channel, "Dr. Jayarama Reddy," featuring 1000 videos. He was granted a German Patent on Molecular Docking.
