Maarten Wetselaar — CEO
One of the greatest challenges of our time is meeting the world’s growing demand for energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As CEO of Moeve, I believe it is my job to help to deliver the solution. ◾ I joined Moeve (former Cepsa) in January 2022 and am working with a team of over 10,000 like-minded individuals to deliver our sustainable energy strategy: Positive Motion. My colleagues and I aspire to lead the transition in Spain, Portugal and beyond to sustainable mobility and energy, creating a better future for our customers and society. ◾ I am eager to see progress in the communities in which Moeve perates. For this reason, I collaborate with partners and others organizations. I sit on the Board of Trustees for The Princess of Asturias Foundation and Elcano Royal Institute, both champion and contribute to scientific, cultural, humanistic, and innovative change. ◾ With a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Groningen and a post doctorate Controllers degree from VU University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, I started my career in energy at Shell in 1995. I held a variety of financial, commercial and general management roles in Shell’s gas, renewables, downstream and trading businesses. I moved from Europe to Brazil, Ghana, Dubai, Moscow and Singapore before returning to the Netherlands. There I served for six years on the Executive Committee as Director for Integrated Gas, Renewables and Energy Solutions. All views I share on LinkedIn are my own.
