About

I help high-performing founders and executives build and lead enduring companies. I run a referral-only executive coaching practice, partnering with a select group of exceptional leaders—primarily founders and CEOs backed by firms like Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Andreessen Horowitz, YC, and other top-tier investors. Throughout my career, I’ve been a founder and CEO with two public exits, a senior executive at a Fortune 100 company, and a partner at two venture firms. I’ve built and led global businesses from five countries and across multiple industries. I’m a credentialed executive coach (ICF) and a Coaching Fellow at the Institute of Coaching, a Harvard Medical School affiliate. I also co-founded and manage an early-stage venture capital firm and startup studio. My career began at Time Warner, where I helped launch CNN and Turner Broadcasting in Asia, and later served as President of Time Inc. Asia Pacific. I went on to co-found and lead two companies through IPOs on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. I’ve experienced the full arc of company-building firsthand: raising capital, scaling teams, leading M&A, and navigating the complexity that comes with growth and leadership at the highest levels. If you’re a founder gaining momentum, a CEO scaling through complexity, or a senior executive preparing for what’s next—I probably know what’s on your plate.

Mucker capital

Venture Partner

Jul 2014Dec 2020 · 6 yrs 5 mos · Greater Los Angeles Area

  • Mucker Capital is one of the best-performing early-stage venture firms in the U.S., known for its contrarian thesis: that world-class founders don’t just live in Silicon Valley. Based in Los Angeles, Mucker backs pre-seed and seed-stage companies with a hands-on, high-conviction approach—partnering early and staying deeply involved through every stage of company-building. The firm has achieved exceptional outcomes, including Honey (acquired by PayPal for $4 billion), AuditBoard (acquired by Hg for $3 billion), and ServiceTitan (valued at over $7 billion), delivering over 30x DPI on its inaugural fund.

One media holdings

Co-Founder & CEO

Jan 2004Jan 2008 · 4 yrs · Hong Kong

  • My co-founders and I started this company by acquiring a small publisher, based in Beijing. We then worked closely with the existing team, scaling the company into what would be one of the larger content publishing companies in China, with offerings such as: BBC's Top Gear, Rolling Stone (google Rolling Stone China for a good story), Ming Pao Weekly, Popular Science, MING, and niche websites and publications across China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. We took the company public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2005, and I remained CEO of the public company through 2008.

Time warner

President - Asiaweek Magazine

Jan 1999Jan 2001 · 2 yrs · Hong Kong

  • Asiaweek was a regional sister magazine to TIME. Newly recruited into Time Inc. from Turner Broadcasting (a sister company under Time Warner), my first role was to either turnaround or close this marginally performing business. Over the course of two years, my team and I recruited new teams across sales, marketing, editorial, and finance, where we cut $10 million in cost. The business still underperformed, so we decided to close it in 2001, laying off 60 staff. It was not a fun job - but this is where I learned to manage a large P&L and to make very hard decisions at scale.

  • I owe everything to this great start. For my first job out of university, I was part of the initial team which opened the operations of Turner Broadcasting in Asia. I recruited teams and managed ad sales operations across Southeast Asia. After establishing a team in Hong Kong, I later moved to Singapore to open a second office to service the growing sales, distribution, and partnership opportunities in the region.
