I then moved to a total different industry to set-up the Personal & Private Banking Business for Deutsche Bank, India. Initially concentrating on building the liability base for the bank with a slew of innovative products; and then shifting gears to Private Wealth Management space, well ahead of the market, with a range of structured investment and lending products for the HNI’s and NRI’s. The solid foundation created over the 14 years with Deutsche Bank has resulted in Private Wealth Management Group being rated amongst the top in India by Euromoney. I then jointed the World Gold Council to take advantage of my Financial & Consumer Market experience. The major focus area over the 4 years was to establish and maintain personal contacts with key industry players, government officials and the media. Apart from developing/launching some very successful Jewellery brands, I successfully repositioned gold as a main stream investment products through the formal banking channels. 2 years back I took on another challenging assignment to conceptualize and set-up a Retail Chain in the highly fragmented and competitive jewellery sector.
