  • A new venture into the food industry has seen the growth of Honest Kitchen; a gourmet delicatessen and specialty coffee shop. The company has earned itself a representation for tasty and healthy food with a big emphasis on local produce and customer service. Located in the suburb of Knocknacarra, we have a big local following.
  • Recruited, trained and managed a team of 6 staff in HACCP, food safety, customer service, barista skills and food presentation resulting in low staff turnover and promotion of staff.
  • Increased final quarter turnover year-on-year (2016,2017) by 46.92% by increasing the opening hours and changing the method of service to increase customer transaction time.
  • Featured in various online editorials including RTÉ ‘Ireland’s Best Health Food Businesses’ for alternative food options and ‘This is Galway’ for pioneering compostable coffee cups and packaging in Galway.
  • Practiced a high level of customer service; approx. 70% of business is from returning customers
  • Directed each step of the project including acquiring funding, site procurement, marketing and menu development to include alternative options.
  • Managed budget for the site set up and forecasted budget requirements for the first six months of opening, ensuring cash flow stability.
  • Designed the interior and exterior shop creating a logo, name, brand and identity that aligned with the identity of food and beverages served.
  • Created a brand identity for the company using social media platforms Instagram and Facebook, gaining a following of 4,000 direct customers to showcase products available for sale.
  • Implemented frequent staff meetings, training and teambuilding excursions to guarantee open communication and to ensure staff were fully informed on updated service techniques.
  • I sold this successful business in the summer of 2018 to Galway based buyers. The business is still trading successfully based on the loyal customers gained in the first two years of trading.
