I am the Chair of KPMG UK and oversee the stewardship, accountability, and leadership of the UK firm. I lead the UK Board to fulfil its responsibilities in setting the direction and tone, including ensuring strategy is consistent with the public interest, overseeing the financial performance, culture, risk management and audit quality and holding senior leadership to account. I‘ve had an amazing 35 years with KPMG in the UK, India, US and Canada advising global businesses on strategy, transformation, M&A, corporate finance, capital markets, complex restructuring and cross border investment. I helped set up KPMG’s Indian firm, established a new business in Canada, led technology M&A in the US and latterly chaired the UK’s Emerging Giants Practice, focused on fast growth technology businesses. I’ve led the firm’s focus on the trade and investment agenda, in particular, supporting scale up clients to access finance and grow their international presence. I represent our industry on the Strategic Trade Advisory Group and sit on the Professional Services Trade Advisory Group. I am also Senior Independent Director at the International Chambers of Commerce, UK. In 2022, I was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list for services to trade and investment in the UK and supporting female entrepreneurs. I am a member of the Institute of Fiscal Studies Council, an Honorary Fellow in Entrepreneurship at Cambridge Judge Business School and an Honorary Visiting Professor at Bayes Business School. I am a member of the National Numeracy Leadership Council and am passionate about shaping the role we play in society. I also chair the KPMG Foundation, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of some of the UK's most vulnerable children.
