About

Rajiv Memani is Chairman and CEO of the India region of EY (formerly Ernst & Young) and Managing Partner of the Africa-India Region. He is also a member of EY’s Global Executive Board and Chairman of EY’s Global Growth Markets Council. Rajiv is active with many clients, principally with private equity funds, fast-growing Indian entrepreneurial and global organizations establishing/expanding their presence in India. Rajiv specializes in complex Mergers & Acquisitions as well as assisting companies in raising Private Equity. He has worked with large Indian groups as they have looked at corporate structuring, advising them on long-term value creation, tax and structuring issues. Rajiv joined EY in the mid-1980s and after working in Assurance and Tax, started the organization’s market-leading Corporate Finance Practice. In 2004, Rajiv was appointed Chairman and Managing Partner for India region which includes Bangladesh. In his role as Chairman of EY’s Global Growth Markets (GM) Council, Rajiv’s responsibilities include connecting GM with developed markets as well as recommending investment plans for the GMs. Rajiv is also the President of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) for 2025-26. He has been a part of several policy advisory committees constituted by the Government of India, including a Ministry of Finance taskforce that drafted the Direct Tax legislation in 2019. He has also been a part of the Ministry of Finance Committee to simplify the provisions of the Income Tax Act, and the Ministry of Railways Advisory Body to modify the accounting system for tracking expenditure to desired outcomes. With his deep commitment to giving back to society, Rajiv has been the driving force behind EY Foundation for the last 20 years. Under his leadership, the Foundation has positively impacted millions of poor families through sustainable and scalable programs in the areas of education and rural empowerment. He is a Board member of the IIM, Sirmaur, a premier institute of management education and research, and a member of the governing council of KREA University. In his personal capacity, he serves as the President of the board of Him Jyoti School, Dehradun which provides free of cost, quality education to underprivileged girls from rural Uttarakhand.
