As President of Western Vertical, I lead a boutique development management firm providing senior, owner-side leadership on complex multifamily and mixed-use projects across Western Canada. I bring over 20 years of experience delivering institutional-scale developments — from early feasibility and approvals through construction and stabilization. My work focuses on supporting developers, investors, and housing organizations on projects where execution risk is high, internal capacity is limited, or decisions must be anchored to clear financial outcomes. I’m often engaged to guide projects end-to-end or to step in at critical inflection points to help stabilize scope, schedule, and budget. Prior to founding Western Vertical, I held senior development roles at institutional real estate firms, overseeing billions of dollars of development value across residential, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. In parallel with my professional work, I’ve served on the Calgary Planning Commission and the Calgary Subdivision and Development Appeals Board, and I am currently Chair of the Urban Land Institute Alberta, bringing a practical understanding of municipal approvals and city-building from both public and private perspectives. My approach is pragmatic, financially grounded, and owner-focused, with an emphasis on clear decision-making, disciplined risk management, and execution.

When completed, project projected 5 new towers, 1550 residential units, 50,000sf of community-serving retail, and options for a 500,000sf office tower or 315 key hotel, and had a projected market value of approx. $2 billion. Managed a team of land use attorneys, public relations consultants, CEQA consultants, engineers, and architects for the entitlement confirmation (rezoning) process. Position required interaction with institutional equity partners, political leaders, and asset-management related reporting.
