• Identified the need for, and successfully evangelized and influenced Heads of Engineering and senior architects to invest in a new event-driven migration platform, which now powers Atlassian’s #1 OKR: server-to-cloud migration. • Built and matured engineering teams from scratch—scaling up to 25+ members including senior architects, engineering managers, and principal engineers. Designed the org structure and implemented effective processes to enable collaboration with 15+ teams, onboarding all data migration use cases to the new orchestrator across 7+ global regions.
• Currently leading the Product-Abuse organization. The org owns Atlassian’s Trust & Safety engineering capabilities, including enforcement systems, adaptive product controls, AI safety, anomaly detection, and user suspensions. Collaborates with and influences over 25 teams to define and enforce best practices that prevent, detect, and mitigate abuse across the platform.
• Led one of Atlassian’s first generative AI production use cases, leveraging LLMs to classify and route tens of billions of emails/year, improving platform automation and intelligence.
• Carved out an AI Redteam to combat AI abuse across 5+ products.
• Ideated an AI driven behavioural tagging system for customer classification to increase true positives.
• The underlying tech stack includes Golang, Kotlin, and Kafka. The systems process over 300M events per day, parse 30M+ attachments daily for policy violations, and operate with 99.99% uptime.
