About

Hi, I'm Gopal - a Product Manager who builds payment software - the kind you use every day to pay friends, split bills, or buy stuff online. But that's just what I do today. Over the last 5 years, I've built across very different worlds - fintech infrastructure, internal tooling, and consumer apps. At Decentro, I've spent the last 3.5 years building the payments plumbing that other companies run on. I own the UPI Payments Platform that processes ~$1.3B+ annually. I'm also leading the 0-to-1 build of Decentro's Cross-Border Payments Platform - which means doing pretty much everything, from evaluating banking partners and PSPs to implementation, ops enablement, and product engineering. It's messy, complex, and has taught me more than anything else in my career. Before Decentro, I spent an year at Saveo - an e-commerce company where I built internal tools and dashboards that helped demand and marketing teams work smarter, and automated workflows for accounting and customer support. Not glamorous, but it gave me a deep appreciation for how businesses actually run behind the scenes. And before all of this, I founded Frenny while still in college - a mental health app that connected people with trained listeners and therapists. I built the iOS and Android apps, put together a 16-member team, and scaled it to 100k users generating $25k+ ARR. That experience of building something from nothing - being the founder, builder, and operator all at once is honestly what shaped how I think about product today. The thread across all of this? I've gone from building products people touch to the core systems that power businesses. And that range - knowing what users feel and what infrastructure demands - is what I bring to the table.
