I quote from Teller's blog post, "Let’s say you’re trying to teach a monkey how to recite Shakespeare while on a pedestal. How should you allocate your time and money between training the monkey and building the pedestal?" Teller concludes that the right answer should always be to spend all your time on training the monkey to recite Shakespeare and ZERO time on building the pedestal. But there will always be folks who will focus on building a "world-class" pedestal. Why? Because it is easier to build a pedestal than train a monkey to recite Shakespeare. Building a pedestal gives a false sense of "work is progressing". How do we build this ability to solve for tough problems? The moonshot? By building the DOER mindset as a muscle. My unique career path has helped hone the unique ability to blend “Zero to One” & “Business As Usual (BAU)” mindsets to scale businesses. This is demonstrated in my experience across sectors and building completely new business models from the scratch.
