This enables product teams across Google to view their current capacity approvals and projected growth, thus providing a single authoritative source for OPEX, launch decisions, and scaling their distributed systems.
• Took un-forecasted SVP-driven demand from undeliverable state to fully launched and planned state. In a tight schedule of 2 months, resource managed Google’s “myactivity” launch which now indexes 20 trillion documents and has global impact on Google’s privacy and ads content.
• Established a sound framework for forecasting and enabled utilization measurement, resulting in ~25% utilization improvement, with ~$9M in annualized cost savings between Aug’15-Feb’16. This framework enabled the teams to deliver many launches and projects on time with resource planning as one less problem to manage.
