Mrc | merchant risk council

Chief Executive Officer

Mar 2020Present · 6 yrs 2 mos · Austin, Texas

  • Since joining the MRC, I’ve led the organization through an extraordinary period of growth, transformation, and impact.
  • When I started, we had roughly 450 member companies — today, we’re proud to represent more than 780 globally. Under my leadership, we’ve more than doubled our revenue and expanded our presence from a primarily North American and Europe events organization into a global membership community with activities happening almost every day across multiple regions.
  • Just a few weeks after I accepted the CEO role, the pandemic hit, forcing an immediate and dramatic shift in how we operated. I fearlessly led the organization through that crisis, guiding our team to quickly pivot from hosting four in-person events per year to delivering year-round digital engagement, virtual conferences, webinars, and member programs — ensuring that MRC not only survived but thrived.
  • I’ve also expanded MRC’s footprint into the APAC and LATAM regions, creating a truly global presence. Beyond events, we’ve built out a strong education and certification portfolio — including 30+ eLearning courses and a world-class industry certification program that’s now recognized across the payments and fraud prevention community.
  • Finally, I started MRC’s advocacy initiatives, establishing the organization as the voice of the merchant within the payments ecosystem. Today, MRC actively collaborates with regulators, card networks, and industry partners to represent merchant perspectives and drive meaningful policy and industry change — helping shape a more balanced and effective global payments landscape.
  • I love feedback, so feel free to drop me a note and let me know what you would like to see for the MRC. I am excited and blessed to be working with such a great team and serving a membership community and board that feels a lot like family.

Ethoca

SVP, Industry Solutions

Sep 2010Jun 2019 · 8 yrs 9 mos · Austin, Texas

  • As Senior Vice President of Industry Solutions at Ethoca, I joined the company pre-revenue and helped transform it into a recognized industry leader. I developed and executed the marketing plans that launched our flagship products and built the visibility that positioned Ethoca as a trusted name in fraud and payments collaboration.
  • I established our sales process and metrics through Salesforce, served as Acting Head of Sales during a critical growth phase, and later assisted in hiring the new VP of Sales. I also stepped in as Acting Head of Customer Service, building the customer service team from the ground up and creating scalable processes to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • As a key driver in the launch and success of Ethoca Alerts, I helped grow the business from zero to $50M+ in revenue. I also invented, designed, and led the launch of Ethoca Eliminator, our second major product innovation.
  • An industry subject matter expert, frequent speaker, and award winner, I’m passionate about bridging technology, strategy, and collaboration to deliver solutions that create real value for merchants, issuers, and consumers.
  • The company’s growth and innovation during this period ultimately led to its acquisition by Mastercard, marking a successful outcome for our team.

  • Within two years, my efforts in marketing, sales, and partnerships generated $6M in annual revenue. I hired and trained a high-performing sales team, established a world-class customer support organization, and architected a rapidly scaling call center operation using Salesforce.com and third-party call center integrations to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • I also launched and trained the OnCall Investigations Team, a group of specialists dedicated to restoring consumer identities and helping law enforcement catch fraud suspects.
