Courtney Johnson — Founder
Doctors and hospitals fight cancer with treatments and surgeries. At Culinary Care, we're fighting cancer with good food and community support. It's not just nice to have, it's essential for better outcomes. I founded this organization in 2013 with a passion for food and an internal need to turn the pain of losing my dad to cancer into purpose. What I've found along the way is much bigger -- isolation and malnutrition can impact survival as much as 25%. Culinary Care has delivered over 53,000 free meals, each accompanied by phone calls, text messages, and cards. If we were to make nourishment part of cancer care for just 25% of patients, we would need to be delivering over 4 million meals annually. Every corporate sponsor, monthly donor, and gala guest helps us get closer to this reality. I'm also a boy mom, entrepreneur, marketing nerd, and I live my life looking forward to my next meal. I insist that I have at least one phone call with all my connections, so if you're up for actually building relationships, please reach out!
