About

HS Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, fellowship-trained in spine surgery. UCSF and the San Francisco VA. Three decades in computing, a decade in academic surgery, three patents spanning computational medicine, 3D printed lattices, adult stem cells, and a patent pending in the field of modern AI. NVIDIA Certified Professional - AI Infrastructure and Agentic AI. I build OrthoSystem.ai — a medical AI education platform running on NVIDIA technology stack. The experience led to insights that showed gaps in industry leaders and methods for improving even frontier model performance on orthopaedic standardized tests, using architecture alone, no fine-tuning. Co-founder of PrinterPrezz (now OIC International / Zeda Health), created to accelerate medical device development through advanced manufacturing. The company held AS9100 aerospace certification. I was responsible for developing and obtaining FDA-cleared devices under 21CFR820 and ISO 13485 design controls and subsequently getting approval of that implant through the Singapore HSA. My research spans computational surgery, finite element analysis, spine biomechanics, and the clinical application of accelerated computing. Before medicine, I spent fifteen years in technology journalism — GPU architecture reviews, graphics API analysis, and early coverage of NVIDIA technology including CUDA for Tom's Hardware and Thresh's FiringSquad.
