Adil Dhanani — Product Manager
tl;dr — I design & build digital products with humans and AI for humans. I’m a product design leader currently leading Product Design for Slack’s Productivity pillar, overseeing Canvas, Lists, and Files — experiences used by millions of teams every day to turn collaboration into action. I operate at the intersection of craft, strategy, and org design, partnering closely with product, engineering, and data to deliver meaningful outcomes while building strong, resilient teams. Previously at Slack, I led the Activation design team within the Expansion (Growth) pillar, owning critical first-touch experiences including the homepage, sign-up and sign-in, workspace creation, onboarding, and early feature education. Our mission was simple but high-stakes: help every new team be successful from day one — requiring deep cross-functional collaboration and a relentless focus on clarity, trust, and momentum at scale. Before Slack, I spent several years at Uber, where I managed and grew design teams across the marketplace, shared rides (UberPool), subscriptions, promotions, and Uber Rewards — the company’s global loyalty program. I played a central role in shaping and scaling Uber Rewards, designing a cohesive, cross-platform system that balanced user value with clear business outcomes. Earlier in my time there, I led design for Uber’s developer platform and strategic partnerships with Apple, Google, Amazon, and Meta. Earlier in my career, I worked on the iTunes Design team at Apple, helping bring the first version of Apple Music and streaming to millions of users worldwide, and on iTunes Connect and web players. Prior to that, I was part of Beats Music, where I led the design of a unified internal tools framework for editors and content creators. I began my career as the first designer at OneID, guiding the company toward a more user-centered product strategy around password-free authentication, and earlier at Palm working on webOS, where I built a strong foundation in interaction design, UI development, and cross-functional collaboration. Across every role, I care deeply about high-craft execution, clear product thinking, and leadership that scales — growing people, not just products. I’m especially energized by ambiguous problem spaces, platforms with real impact, and shaping how people work today and what comes next.
