• Research at Stanford University Medical School and elsewhere proves that the "TV Allowance" device will increase grades and SAT scores, and decrease childhood obesity and aggression. There is a huge denial problem with TV today; the sad reality is that children watch an AVERAGE of six hours of crappy TV every day. • This was fun. I joined Intuit after selling my small Internet startup (Boston Light Software) to them in 1999. We grew our Waltham team to 80 employees (including a couple other small acquisitions), and also remotely managed teams of engineers at Intuit in Mountain View. At Intuit, I lead the creation of the Intuit Innovation Lab and the Intuit Development Network, drove the strategy for an open SDK into QuickBooks, and for QuickBooks online services. I also taught recruiting at Intuit and was very involved with several VP/SVP hires. But most importantly, I learned a lot and made some very important, lifelong friends.

• I started as a programmer helping to make Interleaf publishing system extensible for third party developers. I was at Interleaf for about six years, and ended up running engineering. (Actually, I ran marketing for my last year there, and probably scared the real marketing people to death when they heard a programmer was put in charge of marketing, and then I spent almost the entire year in the field with sales.)

• My memory was a dozen or so PhD types who thought big thoughts that I then prototyped in APL.
