Ian Wilson — CEO

Ian Wilson is Vice President, Human Resources at Amazon, where he leads an organization focused on developing senior talent and accelerating AI transformation across Amazon. The purpose of his team is to enable senior leaders to be as successful as possible in making customers lives better every day. A recognized thought leader in organizational transformation, he is shaping how global enterprises prepare their leadership for the AI era. Previously at Amazon, he led the people agenda for Amazon’s cloud, Advertising, Devices, and Artificial Intelligence divisions. He was the HR leader for Amazon Web Services (AWS) from 2018 thru 2023. Since joining Amazon, Ian has overseen global HR teams operating in dozens of countries who enable leaders and employees with the culture, experience, talent, and capabilities needed to continue innovating on behalf of customers. Prior to his current role, Ian was the HR leader for Microsoft’s Windows and Devices Group, and led HR initiatives for Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, and the Interactive Entertainment Business (Xbox). Earlier with Microsoft, Ian was based in Beijing, China, as the Regional HR Director for the Greater China Region. Prior to joining Microsoft, Ian spent seven years at Allied Signal/Honeywell’s aerospace and industrial automation businesses in a variety of line HR generalist and specialist roles. Ian holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. He sits on the Advisory Board for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
