  • Lead build reliability efforts on Crew and Cargo Dragon Vehicles, responsible for transporting astronauts to and from the International Space Station.
  • Redesigned and qualified the bonding process for the SuperDraco Mudflaps, mitigating risk on one of the vehicle's most critical components.
  • Conducted data driven build reviews leveraging SQL and Power BI to identify areas of improvement and pinpoint weaknesses in the build process.
  • Drove increased reliability and ensured ownership of critical systems, including the nose cone, crew/cargo pods, mudflap, and Draco thruster cluster TPS.

Research And Development Engineer

Aug 2022Jun 2023 · 10 mos · Irvine, California, United States

  • Working with SoCalGas and PG&E to decarbonize UCI campus by introducing hydrogen in natural gas pipelines through radial injection. The hydrogen flow is dynamically controlled via pressure regulation and must be robust and flexible to account for variation in natural gas flows and pressures.
  • Used ANSYS Products to run simulations on 6, 12, 30, & 36 inch pipe sizes to reach a Mixing Index of 90% at concentration levels of 2,5, & 20%, all in the efforts to slowly decarbonize the natural gas power grid.
  • Currently working on building lab scale prototype in order to verify CFD Mixing Results of >90%.

  • Researching and modifying design in order to achieve building a function rotating detonation engine (RDE) that can be operated outside of ideal lab conditions.
  • Research and understand the different components of what goes into building a function RDE
  • Produced intricate NX Siemens assembly models of preliminary RDE design
  • Using ANSYS Fluent to run fluid simulations on CAD models in order to prove pressure gain combustion possibility with researched design elements.
