• Lead the “SCM and Automation” team at Accept Development centre, a SaaS based start-up organisation. Being Agile Coach, I was responsible for defining and institutionalising ways of working, besides the following:
• Continuous Delivery Mindset and Tooling:
• Architected an UrbanCode Deploy implementation organization wide, resulting in 95%+ automated build and deployments. This was one of the earliest successful deployments of UrbanCode, before it got bought over by IBM.
• Mediated an identical deployment process across Dev & Ops, that resulted in a robust “build-and-deploy-anywhere” mechanism • Coerced the Dev teams to adapt to this Continuous Deployment mindset, which was rare in those days!
• Build/Release Engineering:
• Created “Deploy-to-anywhere” for Ideas (Ruby-on-Rails app). Delivered 95% efficiency gains (~6hr to 15min). This was a pioneering implementation of Capistrano - Open Source deployment platform. Won several appreciations on GitHub & StackOverflow!
• Runner’s up in Accept’s Innovation Jam 2010: Installer prototype that replaced a 25 page document shipped to customers!
• Infrastructure:
• Engineered an expandable Virtual Lab system that houses >5TB+ of VM images across Windows, Linux and Unix flavors • Worked with IT to design Disaster Recovery (DR) & Escrow plans, to adhere to compliance requirements.

• Sent as an “Ambassador” to Irving, Texas office, to resolve internal conflicts and build team relationships!
• Configuration Management:
• Maintenance of 3rd Party Software components used in the builds, including Legal approvals • Instituted Escrow procedures and performed 12 escrow deliveries over 2 years, ensuring Legal compliance for the company
• Consulted PM/QA/Dev organizations to refine Bill Of Materials (BOM) validation processes

• Create Builds for Main, Async and Patch releases on Win 2K/2008, Solaris, Aix, Hpux, HPIA, Linux (build time ~13hrs)
• Identify and communicate valid build breaks, follow-up for resolution and Patch corrective fix • Reverse engineered Teamcenter Project’s entire Build System when it was moved back from a vendor to Siemens PLM

• Developed a CLI Automation Framework for Merant Dimensions – comprising of a CL-Harness (Test Controller/Verifier), Command Generator (cmd-to-parameter mappings), DTEE (execute parameterized Dimensions command) & DRE (reset engine).

• Creation of localized builds/patches for FIGS/EE. Responsible for Final RTM validations and releasing the ISO-image to SPD.
