  • Associated with Spreading Happiness, an initiative that involves tapping solar energy to generate electricity for homes that do not have access to the grid or other solutions for basic electricity.
  • Nominated Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from June 2012-June 2018. Adopted the village of Puttamraju Kandriga in Nernuru gram panchayat near Nellore in Andhra Pradesh under the aegis of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) announced by the Hon’ble PM in October 2014 to provide holistic development to villages. The village was subsequently rated as one of the best in the country at a workshop for Rural Development and District Administration in India.
  • He has recently adopted the second village under this scheme, Donja in Osmanabad (Maharashtra) under SAGY, emphasizing on development of a new school building, a water supply scheme that would provide potable water to each household, concrete roads and a sewage line.
