About

I entered the payments industry by accident. I wanted to move into a product manager role. FX prepaid cards were a lucky break. This turned into a 2-decade-long love affair with cross-border payments Today, I work as a Vice President (India) with Nium, a global real-time payments infrastructure company moving money across 190+ countries and 100 currencies. The Space I Play In: Cross-border payments and remittances. Think of every time money needs to move between countries for students studying abroad, families sending money home, businesses paying international vendors, and travellers loading forex cards. That's my world. And it's undergoing a massive transformation. What I Actually Do: → Drive strategic growth for Nium's India business → Navigate regulatory licensing (it's an art and a science) → Build partnerships with banks, fintechs, and financial institutions → Oversee NIUM Forex — an AD-II licenced entity → Identify new revenue streams in the evolving payments landscape My Background: 20 years across ICICI Bank, Visa, Yes Bank, Thomas Cook, and now Nium. I've built businesses from scratch to category leadership, launched India's first prepaid travel card with zero conversion charges, and earned recognition as one of the "50 Most Influential Payment Professionals in India." Why I'm Here: To share what I'm learning, like regulatory updates that matter, emerging trends in digital payments, and how technology is democratising cross-border finance. And occasionally, personal stuff like learning to swim at 45 (yes, it's humbling). Who Should Connect: • Professionals in payments, remittances, fintech • Founders building cross-border solutions • Anyone curious about India's payment ecosystem • People who geek out on regulatory updates (we exist!) My Philosophy: Cross-border payments shouldn't be complex. Whether you're a student, a business, or a bank, moving money globally should be as simple as a domestic transaction. That's what we're building. One real-time payment at a time. Let's connect to discuss payments, regulations, or how India is leading the global fintech revolution.
