About

In a world obsessed with saying a lot in very few words, I’m an outcast. I like immersing readers in the issue at hand and taking the time it deserves. Long-form writing, films, and audio are where I feel most at home. I work with travel, adventure, and impact-led organisations on brand storytelling, long-form content, and editorial writing. (apart from the occasional exceptions) Over the past six years, I’ve done some incredible writing for adventure travel companies, women’s health organisations, and climate-focused initiatives. My journalism work has appeared in pubs like BBC Travel, Matador Network, Adventure.com, DAZED, and Mint Lounge, to name a few. Travel and field work deeply inform my writing. I’ve taught English to hearing-impaired children in a small town in China, lived and worked in Thailand for a year, assisted on a snow leopard documentary in the upper Himalayas, and frequently spend months on high-altitude treks and bouldering trips. I’m here to share my work, process, and ongoing questions around storytelling, travel, climate, and culture + to make this independent, remote-first working life feel a little less solitary. Have an idea to collaborate on, a project you’d like to discuss, or thoughts about anything else? Reach me at mohnottarang@gmail.com. Also, yes — everything is political.
