Karthik Venkatasubramanian — Co-Founder

Over the last 30 years, Karthik has been an early adopter of all things technology – from ZX spectrum in 1984 to the second version of MS Excel, from early versions of MS DOS to Windows 3.1 and from coding in Fortran to building Bulletin Board Services (BBS). Over the years, he has either learnt, used, built, or played with most emerging technologies of the time. Karthik is now super charged about the possibilities with data and has been learning, using and building machine learning and AI driven products for over a decade. Recently, as Global Vice President for Oracle, he led the charge in the global launch of a brand-new data-powered product line called “Construction Intelligence Cloud”. Prior to that, Karthik built one of the world’s largest databases on capital projects at Aconex and in general, has built numerous systems, applications and integrations across most business functions. Over the course of his career, he has been instrumental in building some amazing, high performing teams and been lucky enough to work with several talented people that have done some incredible things with technology. He was named as one of Australia’s top analytics leaders in 2020 and 2021 in addition to receiving 2 patents, being featured in Forbes magazine and writing numerous articles in leading industry publications across the world. Karthik is currently the Co-Founder of a new start-up called Firmable, focussed on bringing the magic of external data to sales and marketing teams across Australia. He is also part of the Industry Advisory Board within the Department of Information Systems at Deakin Business School and also involved in building, assisting, and investing in several start-ups that are looking to bring new ideas to life. Lastly, he is an avid reader and an aspiring author who hopes to write about the power of “dataism” and need for more “dataverts” in the world!
