Vaishali Nigam Sinha is the Co-Founder of ReNew, a leading decarbonisation solutions company listed on NASDAQ. As Chairperson Sustainability, she plays a pivotal role in positioning ReNew as a global ESG leader, spearheading the net-zero agenda and implementing strategies that have earned the company top international ESG rankings. She is the Founding Chair of ReNew Foundation and leads the ReNew India Initiative, through which ReNew has reached remote regions, positively impacting over 1.5 million lives with CSR programs aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Under her leadership, ReNew led India’s energy sector in S&P Global’s 2025 Corporate Sustainability Assessment—ranking in the 93rd percentile globally and among the top 10% of energy companies worldwide. In 2025, Vaishali was elected as President of the UN Global Compact Network India (UNGCNI)—the first private sector leader to hold this position since the Network’s inception over two decades ago. Vaishali serves as Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Alliance for Clean Air, tackling air pollution through the lens of climate action, health, and sustainability. She is a member of WEF’s South Asia Regional Action Group, a senior advisor to the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, and serves on the Global Advisory Council for the 1 Trillion Trees Initiative. Vaishali is a member of the Governing Council of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), helping shape the institution’s strategic vision. She is also Co-Chair of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Centre for Women Leadership. In 2024, she was Co-Chair of the Finance & Infrastructure Task Force of B20, under G20 Brazil. She is Chair for South Asia Women in Energy (SAWIE) and an advisory board member of Columbia University’s SIPA and Global Centre, Mumbai. She is also co-editor of T20’s ‘Pathways to Equality,’ a global collection of essays on gender parity. A respected voice at events such as COP UNFCCC, WEF, Reuters Energy Transition Summit, and FT Climate Capital Live, Vaishali is a regular writer and speaker on sustainability, climate policy, and gender equity. Her leadership has been widely recognised, with honours including Fortune India’s 50 Most Powerful Women (2024 & 2025), Reuters’ 2025 list of 12 Women Trailblazers Fighting Climate Change, Business Today’s Most Powerful Women (2025), and Business Insider’s 100 People Transforming Business (2022). Vaishali holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Columbia University’s SIPA, where she was an AAUW scholar, and is an alumna of Harvard Business School’s OPM Program.
