• As a Summer intern at M2D2 lab at IISc, I was selected to be a part of Prof. G K Ananthasuresh's 7-week program (Research Experience for Undergraduates in Compliant Mechanisms or ReU-CM). There were 12 interns, including me. We were trained ground up, clearing inconsistencies in fundamentals by sheer peer pressure and right guidance.
• Some of the key learnings from this experience were:
• 1) Understanding the motive of compliance from a mechanism perspective.
• 2) Design, Analysis and Optimisation of compliant mechanisms.
• 3) Final project (working model included) on the proposed optimal design of a docking tool.
• 4) FDM printing for compliant mechanisms and optimised structures.

• As a Project Intern under Prof. S N Omkar, I was involved in a cutting-edge research project aimed at measuring muscle excitation during elbow flexion and extension movements in both standard and near-microgravity environments. This unique space-replicating climate was created using exoskeletons within the constraints of an earthen boundary.
• Key Responsibilities:
• We utilized OpenSIM, an open-source tool, for biomechanical system analysis using tracking data.
• We conducted Motion Capture with an 8-camera Optitrack system to gather precise movement data.
• We then proceeded to edit environmental constraints, specifically adjusting gravitational acceleration to the order of 10^-3, to simulate a zero-gravity environment.
• Validated data through surface EMG data obtained with the exoskeleton.
• It was analyzed and concluded findings on muscle excitation in varying gravitational conditions.
• This internship provided hands-on experience with advanced biomechanical analysis tools and deepened my understanding of muscle dynamics in different environmental settings.
