  • Managing a firmware team and collaborating with Product marketing, hardware & software teams for the following projects:
  • o Multi-touch sensing: Designed two-dimensional (X/Y) touch sensing that can detect two touches separated at 2-mm (edge-to-edge), track touches as they move and operate at 12ms response time, 4uA sleep current & 1.2mA active current
  • o Noise measurement and mitigation: Designed and developed algorithms to calculate & track Signal-to-Noise ratio in touch signals, mitigate conducted noise (up to 6 Volts) by moving to a cleaner measurement frequency and supporting all these aspects in the background so that foreground tasks (response to application/user) are not affected.
  • o Short-range proximity sensing: Designed a product that supports up to 3 cm proximity detection with support for noise mitigation, direction based touch suppression and I2C communication.
  • o Safety certification: Support fault detection in firmware, IC and hardware at run-time and successfully passed VDE and UL audits against IEC60730-1 & IEC60335-2-6 standards
  • o New Product Introduction: Production/Quality support for fixed-function touch sensing devices and manage corresponding lab/validation/hardware/technical writing aspects
  • o Collaborate with Software team to get configuration, analysis & debugging support; Work closely with hardware team to develop sensor boards that offer best performance for 2D sensing

  • Significantly reduced timeframe in aligning the timing to a new WCDMA cell & WCDMA channel setup from 20 milliseconds to 10 milliseconds apart from reducing the timing calculations required for WCDMA Hard Handover by 50%.
  • Designed, Coded and Maintained Wcdma Physical layer driver across Interrupt and task handlers to achieve Wcdma Release99 channel management, dual subscription re-design, Handovers and timeline management; Intense Trace32 debugging in ARM/QDSP6 processors and Management of concurrency management between task & ISR were utilized in all activities.
  • Provide leadership to a 4 member team involved in design, coding, testing and integration of dual subscription across WCDMA Layer 1 and RRC; Redesigning of WCDMA physical layer driver/RRC to support a mobile in dual subscription mode using single modem/ RF; Designed and led the team for Wcdma Physical layer driver dual subscription procedures like Idle mode, Acquisition, System Information reading, Downlink Channel Setup, Paging sleep, Paging wakeup, clocks management, sharing of hardware and firmware resources with GSM; Extension of Wcdma Physical layer driver interface with firmware to manage rotator errors across subscription switch and reducing subscription switch time (from 15 milliseconds to 7milliseconds).
  • Redesign the WCDMA R99 channel manager in Wcdma physical layer driver to improve for performance and ease of maintenance spanning design, coding, testing and integration besides focusing on changes to support the new MBMS standard from 3GPP. The re-design effort created new interrupt handlers to streamline channel management and wcdma Layer1 sub-modules from scratch to take care of – Addition, Drop, Re-configuration, Suspend and Resumption of Wcdma physical layer channels; Interface with DRX manager for maintaining the channel UP time (including PICH and SCCPCH);
