• Summer student in the Tree Improvement Lab at the University of Alberta, led by Barb Thomas. Work was focused on aiding MSc and PhD students with their thesis projects both in the lab and out in the field in the following ways: self-supervised completion of research methods, literature searches, data collection and logging, and statistical analysis. Specific projects worked on included the use of IRGA ciras-3 and lygor, Tissue Lyser, and Mini PAM II photosynthesis yield analyzer.

• Independent research project (SURE) with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in conjunction with the Canadian Animal Task Force (CATF). The project was working with a large uncleaned dataset to provide an analysis of dogs participating in spay/neuter clinics over 11 years in First Nation communities, finding trends in the dataset, as well as recommending ways to improve data collection and monitoring for future assessments of the clinics. The end product was an academic paper.

• Independent research on sustainable farming practices of crickets to optimize the company’s practices. Tasks were focused around literature searches and summaries and presenting findings in report formats and boards.

Represent WILDNorth off-site in a positive light while adhering to organizational vision and mission and communicate the need for financial support from members of the community.
